Presenting partner

A Charlotte-based nonprofit that places original work by local artists in unexpected public and private spaces across the city. ArtPop is our presenting partner for this evening.

About the Evening

Six artists. One evening.
Open to all.

On Friday, October 23, our SouthPark office becomes a gallery for three hours. Six Charlotte-area artists will be here with original work: watercolor, acrylic painting, oil painting, hand embroidery, portraiture, and encaustic photography. Every piece is available to purchase directly from the artist who made it.

This is the second evening of its kind. The first, in July, filled the room for all three hours and every artist sold work. The format is simple on purpose. Come when you like, stay as long as you want, talk to the people who made what is on the walls.

Hosted by Tim Petrinec, REALTOR® and founder of QC Home Advisors. Wine and charcuterie are on him. Free Range Brewing is providing beer and Range Water. There is no charge to attend and no RSVP required.

Brett Blumenthal

I'm a wildlife conservation artist creating wildlife art and nature-inspired paintings that reconnect people with the animals and wild places we're at risk of losing. Through watercolor and fine art, my work focuses on species navigating habitat loss, environmental change, and an increasingly fragile future.

Rooted in a multicultural upbringing in East Africa, my work reflects a vibrant fusion of cultural influences, natural forms, and emotional expression. Inspired by the bold patterns of Ugandan batiks and the rhythmic repetition found in water and nature, my art is driven by color: bright, vivid, and unapologetically joyful. Each piece is an invitation to escape into a world of optimism, where beauty, diversity, and freedom from prejudice take center stage.

Christopher DeLange

Christopher DeLange is a multimedia contemporary artist whose current work centers on intricately detailed, hand-embroidered compositions, characterized by geometric precision and surreal abstraction that suggests fluid states rather than fixed forms. Since 2018 he has translated original drawings, paintings, and digital output into the hand-embroidered medium, creating more than one hundred pieces that transform simple materials into dynamic visual fields. His award-winning work has been published and exhibited in Berlin, Portland, and Charlotte. His work is quietly reflective and, with sustained attention, rewarding.

Painting & Drawing

Eva Crawford

I am an award-winning visual artist with a BFA from UNC-Chapel Hill and a lifetime of art-making. Growing up caring for my special-needs sister, becoming a mother of five with mental illness being a struggle for some, and having immediate family members from Uganda and Kenya inspired me to make art about human connection. My portraits are unusually soul filled as I capture subtle nuances of my subjects. My work ranges from expressive paintings to intricately slow drawings on at times unexpected substrates such as discarded quilts. My hope is that my work connects you more deeply with humanity.

Photography & Encaustic

Tanya Murphy

Multidisciplinary artist Tanya Murphy roots her work in the philosophy of Wabi-sabi, finding beauty within imperfect life cycles. Exploring themes of time, resilience, memory, and history, she creates dynamic nature and landscape photography, monoprints, and mixed media. Murphy holds a B.F.A. from the Tyler School of Art and Architecture in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and her artwork is held in permanent collections nationwide.

Oil & Gold Leaf

Bridgette Martin

Painting is how I capture the joy of the journey. Oils and gold leaf aren't optional mediums; they're part of a greater spiritual calling. From expansive skies out my car window, to river reflections and tree silhouettes along a hike in the woods, the simplicity of nature keeps me on my toes, my eyes open, my camera ready. I am a conduit for what needs to be created, forever captivated by the beauty found in nature and moved to translate its message. The intention is to fascinate and capture the viewer, speaking quietly to the natural world that resides in us all.
